You're asking whether a 292 will fit into a 1947-1955.1 truck? Yes. There will be some modifications necessary depending on what route you go - engine mounts, potentially crossmember, potentially radiator placement, drivetrain potentially depending on whats in that truck (up until 1954 they originally used torque tube/closed drivetrain with hinge type axle perches that dont work with an open drivetrain.
I just finished up this conversion on my 54 and got it running for the first time recently
