I was just thinking this way as I do have a 54 car kicking around & was thinking of ways to recycle... plus I don't want a droF style nose. I know the 47-53 takes a 73-87 truck cradle real nice with 3/8 plate shim either side... will be doing the 40 next year or so and will keep updated with what works for me.
