Good evening! Several months ago I posted about gross combined weight ratings on the 60-66 big bolts. I just ended up purchasing a 1966 C60 but I may have opened a can of worms!
The VIN plate on the cab does not match the registration that has followed the truck for many many years (knew this before buying). I assumed the registration was wrong, but now I am thinking the opposite. The registration VIN is a C65 while the cab is C63. The truck has a 175 inch wheel base (102 CA) which matches a C65 not a C63 based on the 1962 manual a kind member on here shared with me. The serial tag on the drivers side kick plate appears to be correct because it specifies the 175 WB, as well as the Spicer 5 speed which is what is in the truck (based on the shift pattern).
The glove box sticker is gone, and the body plate on the firewall is too
Is there a serial number on the frame somewhere? I see on the C10-30s the number is on the LH side near the motor mounts but I can't find a number there.
Any know another way I can confirm the identity of this truck???
