I am currently in the process of changing the rear motor mount crossmember on my 1951 1 ton for a 1954 1 ton crossmember so that I can mount a 292 and new style bell housing in my truck. When I put the 1954 crossmember in, it doesn’t sit flush on the bottom of the frame rail, it appears that the frame rail on my 1951 is wider than the 1954 frame. I was wondering if someone with a 1954 or 1955 first series 1 ton could measure the bottom width of the frame rail where the rear motor mount crossmember sits.
