I had a 225 Buick shoehorned into a '55 Willys CJ-5. That was a tight fit. The steering box stayed in its stock location by using two passenger side rear-dump manifolds. That made the driver's side front-dump, and a carefully bent exhaust pipe made the steering box clear. Maybe you can do something similar.
