Jerry, before I take you up on your generous offer, let me share a little more information. In the first photo (if I did it correctly), #6 cylinder is at TDC and the 2 rockers that you are looking at in disbelief have bottomed out on the pushrods but still left no gap to measure. The next 2 photos are still TDC #6, but when I was at TDC for #1, each of them looked just like the first photo, they had each bottomed out on their pushrods, but just look at the size of the gap now. Last 2 are just for reference.

When I rotate back to TDC #1, at no point do any of the offending rockers compress the springs on their respective valves, the only time they come close is when they close the gap at TDC.
