I'm getting ready to install a LT1 with a 4L60E transmission in my '50 3100. I've already installed a bolt-in IFS from Speedway Motors. I also purchased from Speedway the engine mounts for the LT1. Do any of you know what type of tranny crossmember, i.e., drop I'll need for this setup? I have yet to remove the original rear engine and transmission crossmembers...they're next on the "to do" list. In regards to removing the tranny crossmember, is it possible to modify it for the 4L60E transmission? I realize at a minimum it will need to be relocated. (Monetary concern is a universal crossmember runs around $100. I will have to pay for someone to modify the original if I go that route.)
Looking for suggestions.
