Looking at my '51 it is hard to tell what gauge they are and whether they are spot welded due to paint over previously corroded metal. I would want a heavier gauge, like 16g or 14g. Evan, I bet we could come up with something else for you to duplicate if you are looking for a project! It is cool you can do this, nice job.
