grasp the crumpled newspaper firmly in yer right hand ....
the defroster on the old heaters is just a lever on the heater that directs the air flow to the floor or to the defrost ducts, so it's a manual "on or off", and usually the lever doesn't stay in a part way position on oldies ... you do have a heater?
