Any HEI distributor for a 250 or 292 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine from the mid-1970's to the mid-1980's can be adapted to fit a 216, 235, or 261 engine by machining the large diameter mounting flange on the housing away and fabricating a sliding clamp to allow it to be positioned properly for the drive gear to engage the camshaft and the oil pump correctly. That is all the vendors of those HEI units do to "adapt" them from their original application. I've been doing my own conversion machining on both the large diameter distributors and the ones sold by Langdon's for several years, with zero issues where reliability or fit is concerned.
The photo of the HEI distributor you posted is one of the 250/292 items that has been modified to fit the early Chevy engine. The early inline six engine in the Toyota Land Cruiser was a virtual clone of the Chevy 235 engine, made under license from GM, I believe.
