You can use any complete 73-87 Chevy 1/2 ton front end. The cross member and all suspension will bolt right up to your 64 frame with no modifications. While at the junkyard try and get the power brake booster, brake lines, proportioning valve, steering box, p/s hoses, and p/s pump. This makes the swap a piece of cake and have done it many times. See if you can get the rearend out of the same truck if available and buy a kit from chevyduty that will make it work in your truck (come with new brackets and an adjustable panhard bar). Keep in mind that your truck will now be a five lug and you'll need to change your wheels. It will ride great and stop even better and drop spindles and springs are cheap for this model truck (73-87). Companies like CCP and DJM sell them resonable...if your a smart shopper you can get a entire suspension done for around a grand!
