Okay, I did some welding 20 years ago. Some stick under supervision and a HB wire feed with no gas.

I would really like to go with a MIG unit without gas and use flux core wire to weld with. This will only be used for simple body patch panels.

I have no plans on becoming a serious welder and only want enough machine to replace simple cut out rust spots in my cab, etc... I want to keep it simple and not too expensive, under $500. I do have practice pieces for the welding.
