kruizeag...thanks. I'm going to keep the factory 3.73 rear end for precisely the reasons you mentioned. I found a shop in the area that will re-drill my axles to 5 bolt so I'm just going to steal some parts of the '79 to make it work. I might would swap to a '71-72 like Brian suggests above if I could find the right one, but my luck at finding "just the right part" for this project has so far been not real good.
