Step one: Adjust the hood to fit the cowl of the cab as per the Manual. (You will then be completely done with adjusting the hood.)
Step two: Adjust the fenders to fit the underside of the hood.
Leaving the inner fender-to-cab bolts off will help a lot in aligning the fenders. You can put those on after you tighten everything else up.
Yes, install the grill. You will need to make sure that it fits the fenders at the top corners. (Reproduction grills often need adjustment with a hammer in that location.
I use 1/4 inch nuts and bolts for the rear fender-to-cowl holes to ease getting the other bolts up in the front started. Once all of the other nuts and bolts are started and left stupid loose, I replace the 1/4" nuts and bolts with the correct 5/16" fasteners.
A tapered awl or thin center punch works great for aligning the holes to get bolts started.
