You can use the original switch and a push button starter switch like the 49 and 50 chevy cars had but the aftermarket switch with the "ACC" post can be very handy if you ever go to an alternater or modern accessories. I know someone will chime in on one wire alternaters but they suck; much better to excite with a lamp or wire from the accessory post. I really like Phil's 53 GMC idea. If you could rig up a pivot (the original uses the 6 bellhousing) and incorporate the old foot button that would be double cool.
