The wire is nothing but a piece of shielded coax cable like a radio antenna uses. Anybody with a little bit of soldering expertise can make one. All you'd need to do would be to swap the ends that attach to the machine and the probe. I have a Sun scope than is probably never going to be put back into service if it's the sensor that's bad.
