1. Presumably you still have a 6v negative ground electrical system in your Chevrolet (?) truck?
Presumably you have a 6v negative ground Pertronix module (what part #)?
If both presumptions are correct, you do not need "the resistor".
What resistor, and, where is the resistor?
2. Possibly you have a 12v conversion negative ground electrical system?
Presumably you have a 12v negative ground Pertronix module (what part #)?
If both presumptions are correct, I think you do not need a resistor in the starting circuit.
I think that Pertronix has diagrams somewhere on their website?
I'll look for them after you clarify what you have - or, you could look for them on Pertronix's website.
If I am incorrect/incomplete, someone will correct/clarify.
This Installation Manual might help - but, I cannot read it.
