I'm running a rebuilt Q-jet on my '62,and it's working fine. The biggest problem (and the most common) I've run across with Q-jets is the throttle shaft getting worn sloppy,causing erratic idle,gasoline leaks,bad mileage etc. Be sure to have that checked and have it re-bushed if there's any looseness. It makes a huge difference.
