If it is a universal one, yes, the tubing should be longer on each side. Center in frame at the proper height and tach it in place. Some come with flanges that you weld to the crossmember and then can be bolted to the frame. Just do not weld it solid untill you mock up the entire drivetrain and are sure everything is where it is supposed to be. Good luck......................
