Sorry for the confusion, but glad to clarify. I wanted to know why they are shown in pictures and manuals with the 'flat' side up and the 'lead' side pointing down, toward the road. Mine on my restored '58 235 is installed 'flat' side down (toward the road) and 'lead' side up.
