If there is one word of advice I could give folks thinking about a frame swap, is to compare the frame rises. My 51 GMC 1/2 ton had a really flat frame, so the cab and bed sat on the same level. More or less. When I mounted the body onto its new frame, I had to account for an 11 inch rise over the rear axle. I literally had to add an 11 inch substructure to get the cab and bed on the same plane. So take this into consideration when your frame shopping.
