FIXED.. After removing the fuelpump, i could see the weep holes. Looked stained. Installed new one. Drove it. And really didnt like hesitation i think i created. Returned to garage pulled carb back off and set the float level back to 3/16. Drove again, got gas at near by station to top off tank. Run much better, No gas smell either, which was the issue in the begin with. Needs driven again but happy with results so far. Thanks to all for the input.
