Johnny N: I did mine about 5 years ago and as per the other replies: clamp it in a vice, wear safety glasses, be careful. I can’t recall the details of fighting that spring other than that it wasn’t impossible: just used some small pry bars/screw drivers to leverage it off and back on. As for splitting the body apart you can drill out the rivets, and upon reassembly I used small machine screws and nylocs to hold it together. (See attached photo).
