I've not done this to my 46 as can't find a kit that allows me to keep my original 6 lug wheels. I have done a shade tree front disc build on my 47 chevy coupe. A buddy did all the machine work, based on Chevy S-10 pickup 5 lug brakes. He turned down my stock spindles to match the S-10 units, made a caliper bracket and the rest was bolt on. Used the original 47 non power master cyl, with 2 and 10 lb. residual valves. Have run into several guys that have done this swap on 55 Chevs, running lots of miles with no problems. Next move is to adapt a power booster but this is much better than drums as is. Hope this is some help.
