Well, the design might have been an advance back in the late 1940s, but now we think it was an advanced design for it's time.
Back to rear bumper brackets. I'm contemplating making my own as I would like the bumper to be a bit closer to the back of the truck. Should be easy to get some 3/8" x 1 3/4" flat bar and bend to suit.
