In reflecting on his book, although limited to most of us bolters who drive ours, he does give some sound advice on what to keep your eye out for ... that works.
i.e. proper intakes, exhaust pipes, hei, carburetion tips, and oil circulation. The first chapter helped me on the basic dimensions and identification of engines when I got re-interested in old bolts. Stuff I forgot. I kinda wish it was more down to earth for daily drivers.
