Welcome to the Bolt! I second VVS as I’ve heard good things about them. I never used any of the original paint codes or engine codes on mine, so I’m not much help to you there. There are a few of us Wild Rose Country 1 tonners kicking aground in here. My GMC is a 1951 9434. It sure is fun to drive! I’m looking forward to seeing some pictures!
The 9 at the front of your serial number tags your truck as a ‘49.
