I spent way too much time and effort on rebuilding a heater for my panel. I tore the whole thing apart, de-rusted and repainted it, put a new 12v motor in it, had the core checked at the rad shop. It was the wrong heater, was for a late 40s Chev car. It's still sitting in my shop, panel is long gone.
