Store in a dry location !

Over fill with oil so crank is covered.
Fill any open hole so bugs or mice cannot get in, tape is not an option here.
Spray the cylinders down before screwing in spark plugs.
If it's going to set a long time, back of the rocker arms to reduce valve spring pressure on open valves.
Oil down the rocker shaft with a STP type, sticky/stringy oily type stuff of your choice.
Drain all coolant, wouldn't hurt to run it on a stand to heat it up and dry it out.

Sticking valves and rusty cylinders are the main storage problems.
Plan on carburetor rebuild if storing it, or fill with a lot of WD40 to possibly save it.
Store engine in sealed trash bag with lots of those packets of moisture absorbent

Store in a dry location !
