Did you check the targeting of the oil pipes when you had the pan off? The troughs only supply oil to the rods at idle. Once the oil pump volume increases at cruise speed, a stream of oil squirts straight across the pan and it must hit the rod dippers as they get close to the bottom of their stroke. It's not uncommon to burn a rod bearing due to lack of lubrication if a nozzle gets bent.
