On my 1951 1 Ton, I had to remove some spot welds to remove the inner portion. I then took it to FLAPS to find something that fit. My 38 had a copper mesh at the top but no bath. The filter I replaced it with is for a tractor. It sits slightly higher so I had to modify the hold down nut.
