For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 9 | In reassembling the front torque tube of my 3600 to the SM420 transmission, I found out that I forgot to add the cork seal to the torque tube ball cover (see link, thanks Denny Graham 2nd page 01W jpg). I didn't enjoy putting the tube assembly together the first time, and look forward less to doing it again. Would there be a problem slitting the cork, placing the slit to the top of the cover, and using a bit of permatex to re-seal it? Not trying to be lazy, just looking for an acceptable solution.
