With the undercoating issue that you mention, I wouldn't try to tackle it either. Leave it for when/if you ever restore it or let the next guy do it if you sell it.
The reason being, you need to loosen virtually everything and be able to slide sheet metal past sheet metal. Ain't gonna happen with what you have described.
