I wondered if someone could give me some advice on how to get rid of my backfire. On quick acceloration, I get backfire, sometimes from the carburator, and sometimes thru the exhaust pipe. Do I need to retard or advance it a little or is it a carb problem or other things? I have a 55.1 235 with oil pressure. I just had it rebuilt and put in a rebuilt distributor. I got it to line up the ball on the flywheel with the needle, and have been advancing it from there on the octane marks. Thanks - Scott
