I have seen U-joint bearing caps with folded metal mounting before, they do seem hard to find. I don't know if they were aftermarket made or if they were GM made. Maybe someone knows why they were made different?
What did the old U-joint bearing caps look like? Folded metal or Solid mounting. (check 1st picture)
