I thought I would give a suggestion I haven't seen here yet. An article in 4 Wheel & Offroad showed a TBI swap on a '70 Toyota FJ40. Now before you start yelling, the straight 6 they use is basically a 235. Turbo City offers the kit minus the distributor. The kit is really a system off a 90's S-10 w/4.3 V6. They got the electronic distributor from Up and Over Innovations which is a modified GM distributor. I haven't researched it much more, but it seems like a cheap swap if you use a donor S-10. You might need the intake off the Toyota or use any 2 barrel intake. The kit has a throttle body to intake adaptor which they might sell seperate. I plan on doing this swap on my '48 after I scrounge up the parts. If anybody wants to see the article, email me & I can fax it to you. If I figure out the scanner I might be able to send it email. I will post more when I get more specific info.
