Mark - my observation is they were painted engine color - certainly not different just at end - I had a 50,000 mi original that had a very coarse "steel wool" sorta stuff in it and it was plugged to the point of being problematic - old mech round here said "burn it!" - I did - steel wool stuff pretty much gone - seems like the old days the burning was standard cleaning procedure, partly to rid it of the steel wool - keep "misting" down? more like change it to "drip" grin
