Dad was doing the offset-grind thing back in the early 1950's- - - - -49 Mercury 4" stroke crankshaft ground to 85 HP rod journal size to a 4 1/8" stroke, combined with a .250" overbore- - - - -around 300 cubic inches from a 239 Ford engine, 11:1 compression, and alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide for fuel! We also built a lot of 3 9/16" stroker Chevy 350's back in the late 1970's with 283 connecting rods.
