Bill, Here is a photo of a '37 firewall (not mine), showing the 4 hole grommet and mounting bracket. The temperature gauge line, oil pressure line, throttle cable and choke cable go through the grommet. The bracket and hole in the firewall have an enlarged circular cutout that allows the temp bulb to go through.
