Thanks for the replies guys. Interesting to look back at the evolution of auto glass from a simple pane, laminate and shatterproof. I can remember seeing many shattered windshields showing shards of glass where persons head went through the windshield. Pretty awful stuff. Wonder where the seat belts were? How many moms held their infants on their laps in the front seats? Geez, I’m lucky I made it!

Tinerjohn, my vehicle is a driver and really would like to keep it as original as possible. I don’t imagine many/any suppliers go through the bother/expense of etching the glass.

On to glass replacement.........
