Bogging down can be FUEL DELIVERY.
1. Fuel pump
The one thing I have not checked.... do not have the knowledge or parts to check this.
2. Gas cap not venting. Leave it off on next drive.
Yep - I did exactly that - took the file cap off (file tank is under the bed in back and seems to have no other vent other than the gas cap, so I took it off and put a paint filter funnel over it while I drive to keep crap out - still got the issue.
3. Floating garbage in fuel tank, carb, lines...hills make it move around and block.
Agree - and I put a new file filter in - after the fuel pump, and new fuel line al the way from the tank to the carb. Obviously I drained the tank doing this.
4. Carb float level and float drop.
Rebuilt the carb and redid the floats to spec
5. Carb (needle valve and everything else)
rebuilt but did not change the size of springs or squirters
6. Timing screwed up
Have retimed. At basic 8 BTC, but have played with 12 BTC. Either way advanced timing 32 - 36 at 2500 - 3000 rpm, seems to be in spec
7. The hint would be that it runs good and then not, that's 1 thru 6.
I thought the same! mostly stuck on fuel delivery but seems not to be.

8. Old gas with water in it
Have gone through enough gas to not be this and drained the tank once.
9. Vacuum leak
Nothing obvious but this was my #2 idea
10. Timing chain

11. Bad dizzy, (vac advance, gear, mechanicals)
