A fuse in a critical system is dangerous. If you have an intermitant short or a surge the fuse will blow instantly. You could be going down the center lane on the freeway & every thing shuts off. Or a dark 2 lane & the lights go out. With a fuseable link it would buck & flicker & not go off unless it was a continous dead short. Fuses are fine on the heater, radio etc.
