When I got my truck, an inspection showed that one of the front shackles was broken and not holding the spring straight. So I replaced all the shackles and pivot points on both ends of the springs. Some of the ones that looked good were pretty worn once I got them apart. I left the springs alone, they seem okay, I know some people put a sheet product (cannot remember the name off hand) between the leafs when they go back together to help them slide across each other. Maybe something to look into.
