I will try the hose trick this afternoon. I was using a long screwdriver to listen for mechanical noises, found a very noisy generator. I'd consider the ebay route for another qjet, but I have to get an inspection and tag this week and don't have the time. I can go into the parts store and plunk down $240 for a new Edelbrock and walk out with it. It's only my hard earned gun money!  No single action 45 Colt this year.
