Although I have not had the great joy of grafting in corvette components on both ends (I can hardly type as I salivate!), you might want to consider your final goal first. The original frame of your '53 is pretty simple and accepts many options, but was designed for a pretty tall stance. If you're going low, you may need more notches and other frame mods.
I might suggest going to the link section of the Stovebolt site and checking out various retailers. There is a lot of info out there!
