My grandfather hauled ice and coal all over Nashville Tennessee with a fleet of rigs like that, and they also had two 34 Chevys set up as tractor-trailers, hauling beer from Milwaukee and St. Louis to Nashville. Those rigs had vacuum-assisted mechanical brakes on the tractors, and NO brakes on the trailers!
