I'm confused, why can't you just tweak the line a little with your hands? Mine takes a little fiddling, but steel fuel lines aren't hard to bend or tweak. There is no gasket at the carb end. The flare end seats on the carb. Use a very fine sandpaper or steel wool to clean both surfaces, it may help.
