I’m fully dismantling my 1941 1 1/2 ton truck for a full restoration. I am currently stripping the engine preparing to pull it and ran into a couple of questions.
After removing the bolt which holds the distributor bracket to the block the distributor does not want to come out. I’m assuming the end of the shaft is keyed, but should pull out? Wanted to confirm before I get too serious about removing it. Can anyone offer any tips on its removal?
I’ve also noticed that my engine has old black paint on it in spots; I was under the impression that all of these flat heads were painted silver in 1941; is that correct?
This was a Canadian built truck that has the larger engine bore out of the factory according to the ID tag if that makes any difference.
Any help with these two questions would be great appreciated!
