I keep hearing about the cardboard headliners and door panels warping over time due to moisture. I bought some spray silicone and gave both sides of my new cardboard three coats. Now my cardboard beads water. Not sure how long it will last on there but from my musical Instrument repair experience....one silicone gets on something it's hard to get off. Maybe this info will help someone.
