Rebuilt it and was still having problems (worn out at the throttle plate pivot points). I am very careful when rebuilding and just couldn't get it to stay adjusted. Ended up replacing it with a unit from the local parts store for about $75. Best investment I made for a smooth engine, better starts and more mpg. Don't like to throw money at a problem but it was surprisingly cheap for a carb and it did the trick.
I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.
